Cuz Ruffin is likely somewhat culpable in the motive for the home invasion robbery. It doesn't mean that she was engaged in criminal activity - reproach or insult is a possible (but unlikely) scenario.
I apply Occam's Razor in situations like this one by selecting the hypothesis that makes the fewest assumptions. That rules out that the black assailants were space aliens, etc.
Therefore:
She was involved in a drug rip-off, was holding cash for somebody or she was in 'da biz". Home invasion and kidnapping is the tradecraft of drug dealers in the black community. (as opposed to the practice of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception - who are unlikely to invade her home for the purpose of helping her find Christ)
