Is You Serious...

This can't be real:

Ex-ATF official's gun ends up at Mexican cartel shootout that killed beauty queen

"...A FN Five-Seven semi-automatic pistol, a high powered handgun originally restricted to military and law enforcement customers, was recovered by Mexican police at the scene of a Nov. 23 shootout between the Sinaloa Cartel and the Mexican military.

Records show the gun was purchased in January 2010 by George Gillett, the former No. 2 in the ATF office in Phoenix. Gillett now works at ATF headquarters in Washington as a liaison to the federal Bureau of Prisons.

Gillett purchased the weapon at Legendary Arms, a Phoenix gun store. On the federal form 4473 used to buy the gun, Gillett used the ATF office address, 201 East Washington, and said "Apt 940." On subsequent purchase, Gillett used a commercial address, that of a strip mall.

Both actions are illegal, since ATF regulations require buyers use their residential address.

"Lying on form 4473 is a felony and can be punished by up to five years in prison in addition to fines," Sen. Charles Grassley said in a letter Wednesday to Michael Horowitz in the Office of Inspector General. "I request that you initiate an investigation into these matters and that you specifically examine whether Mr. Gillett was the purchaser as indicated by these documents, why the forms list multiple, inaccurate residential addresses while purchasing the weapons, and how the weapon purchased on January 7, 2010 ended up in Mexico."

Gillett's gun was found in Sinaloa after a gun battle that killed Mexican beauty queen Maria Susana Gamez. Gamez was reportedly fighting alongside the cartel. Police found a weapon similar to an AK-47 and some 50 bullets next to her body. Another weapon found at the crime scene was traced to a Uriel Patino, who illegally bought more than 600 guns and is a main suspect in the controversial Operation Fast and Furious run out of the Phoenix office of the ATF.

"Why would the assistant in charge of that office be buying guns in the first place?" Grassley said in an interview with Fox News. That would raise the question of the extent to which that person might be involved in the gun trafficking that was going on and profiting from it. ... These are legitimate questions."

Gillett didn't respond to a request to comment for this story, though he has confirmed in other news interviews that he bought the gun, saying he later sold it on the Internet.

Yes, I am Pro Choice...

...I believe teachers, pilots and all free citizens should be able to choose to arm themselves, or not.

The horrible events in Tucson, AZ, Aurora, CO, and Newton, CT have something in common - mentally disturbed individuals who were not being treated correctly.  No gun law would have prevented what a strong, active family could have.  In our effort to treat people as normal, when they are not, we fail them, and there are consequences.

...I believe parents should be able to choose what schools to send their children to.

And tax dollars spent on education should follow.  To include home schoolers. When I disagree with the curricula, methods, results and general dysfunction of the school down the street, why can't I reward the BETTER school in the next neighborhood over.  Students, teachers and parents will follow the money, and the system will adapt to the will of the community, rather than the opposite.

...I believe citizens should be able to choose whether or not to purchase health insurance, and employers should be able to choose to offer health insurance.

Health insurance is not health care. Just one of the unintended consequences of the Obama mandate will be low quality, cheap insurance which qualifies under the law, is only purchased by the poor, and further lowers their quality of life.  Twenty years ago, anybody reading this part would wonder why I would even declare this (...and wonder how my words got on their computer when Al Gore was just beginning his work on creating the Internet).

...oh, and I believe life begins at conception.

The Rule of Law...

They just don't get it...

"...leave the constitution out of it..."  I don't know who she is, or why they pay her to talk, but she is representative of what MANY on the left think - that we just need to make laws, that will fix things.

...it starts in our schooling, why didn't she learn, or why hasn't she been reminded, about limited powers.

Liberty Fading...

The Fall of 2012 will mark not a turning point, but a waypoint on a journey towards...well who knows at this point.  Socialism?  No, we will never go that far.  Worse, we are destroying the best free place on  Earth, by eroding our freedoms and empowering and growing our government bit by bit, little by little, and those freedoms that have been secured over two centuries, will not be returned easily.

As it is, the young in this country live under the comfort and security of what was created and secured by previous generations, and they think it should, and can, change into something better - but by changing it, they are jeopardizing the very thing that gave them the freedom to choose something else.

Yes, we are eroding Liberty.  It has been weakened, and who knows when it will improve.  The liberties secured by our founding have been eroded at the base.  The words of the Constitution have lost their meaning.  What was a not just a symbol to the world, but a reality to be lived and seen, may not be available to future generations.

If you visit Liberty Island, you will see the LARGE portion of visitors - are from other countries.

Statue of Liberty to remain closed indefinitely due to damage on Liberty Island

NEW YORK — The Statue of Liberty survived Superstorm Sandy with every crown spike in place, but its surrounding island was so badly damaged that the National Park Service doesn’t know when the beloved tourist attraction will reopen or how much repairs will cost.
A tour of Liberty Island on Friday showed broken railings, torn-up paving stones, damaged equipment and flood-wrecked buildings....

That too.

Where Do You Want to Live...

See below the County map of the United States...now conservatives, don't get in an uproar, while some (misguided) individuals want to get rid of the Electoral College, the "square mile option" is not being considered...by anybody.  If you break it down into voting 'precincts' or 'wards' the country gets even redder....more redder...anyway, its less blue.

One thought, push the blue cities into the blue ocean where they belong.

Disappointing:  You see that Coeur d'Lane, Idaho, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and other areas of Free America have been bought out by the riches from Hollywood, etc..  Sadder still, Big Horn County Montana - population 13,000 - no doubt the reservation vote, and Miss

Washington state was not in by the time the map was made, but it would look much like Oregon, with the coast matching the blue of the ocean, and the west and Spokane County going to Romney Ryan, 51/46.

You should also note the most densely populated state of New Jersey, red in the northwest (where there are more trees than people), and Cape May County in the south...where people are just, happy.

Eat Your Dog! Wait, don't...

For the most part, the Right is NOT self imploding, and blaming Romney.  That is a good thing.  Anybody who supported him should be proud and thankful that a man like that put himself up to be our representative.

He didn't have the conservative credentials that some of us look for, but he would have been a great President.  The Republicans lost because we are losing the war of words.  One thing we DO hear, from the Left itself (who is trying to make sure enough people hear their false narrative that it becomes the truth) but also from the Right, is that the Republican Party needs to reach out to Blacks and Hispanics.  I could not disagree more.  Our values and goals ALREADY speak to them - they are not listening.  So in that respect, yes, we need to reach out to them (did anybody see our convention?).

Arthur Brooks makes a great case for this in The Road to Freedom, only he wasn't speaking about the color of people's skin, he was talking about people in general...

 and...if you have the time

Stand By...

I have been jotting down notes since the election.  It took me about 12 to 16 hours to figure it out.  I didn't get it, I didn't understand what happened.  But once the fog of my enthusiasm for Hope and Change cleared, it was simple.

...also, I listened to three different talk radio shows while driving up and down my blue state, which neighbors a blue state, and I heard the answer in the voices of the callers.

...but I don't have time to write a coherent post.

...so watch the video below.  He is 100% right when it comes to Obama's popularity, and the reason for it.  He is 100 wrong about what the Republicans should have done.

America is the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.  Freedom chose less freedom, and we have to live with the consequences, and so we must be brave.

If we believe that history, reality, and empirical evidence proves that high tax RATES, a weak dollar, protectionism, overburdening regulation, and a move away from traditional values - are bad...then in four years, absent a Clinton-like move to the Right from Obama, we will be proven right...again.  If we are wrong, then we were wrong.  Fear not in that regard. (BTW - if you read my post of October 2, you will see that my nest egg is not down 6.2% in 30 days...)

ALEXANDER HAMILTON warned of this.  We are a Democratic Republic, not a Democracy, and for that he was called a Monarchist.  Listen now, to people who believe money is corrupting our campaigns and want to get rid of the Electoral College.  If we did that, do you think anybody would have campaigned in New Hampshire?

Why?

Pew Research Center for the People & the Press

"Socialism" Not So Negative

"Capitalism" Not So Positive

A Political Rhetoric Test

"Socialism" is a negative for most Americans, but certainly not all Americans. "Capitalism" is regarded positively by a majority of public, though it is a thin majority. Among certain segments of the public -- notably, young people and Democrats -- both "isms" are rated about equally. And while most Americans have a negative reaction to the word "militia," the term is viewed more positively by Republican men than most other groups.
These are among the findings of a national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press that tests reactions to words and phrases frequently used in current political discourse. Overall, 29% say they have a positive reaction to the word "socialism," while 59% react negatively. The public's impressions of "capitalism," though far more positive, are somewhat mixed. Slightly more than half (52%) react positively to the word "capitalism," compared with 37% who say they have a negative reaction.
A large majority of Republicans (77%) react negatively to "socialism," while 62% have a positive reaction to "capitalism." Democrats' impressions are more divided: In fact, about as many Democrats react positively to "socialism" (44%) as to "capitalism" (47%).
Reaction to "capitalism" is lukewarm among many demographic groups. Fewer than half of young people, women, people with lower incomes and those with less education react positively to "capitalism."
The survey, conducted April 21-26 among 1,546 adults, measured reactions to nine political words and phrases. The most positive reactions are to "family values" (89% positive) and "civil rights" (87%). About three-quarters see "states' rights" (77%) and "civil liberties" (76%) positively, while 68% have a positive reaction to the word "progressive."
Reactions to the word "libertarian" are evenly divided -- 38% positive, 37% negative. On balance, Republicans view "libertarian" negatively, Democrats are divided, while independents have a positive impression of the term. "Militia" elicits the most negative reaction of the nine terms tested: Just 21% have a positive reaction compared with 65% who have a negative response.

Partisan Divide over "Socialism"

The most striking partisan differences come in reactions to the word "socialism." Just 15% of Republicans react positively to "socialism" while 77% react negatively. By more than two-to-one (64% to 26%), independents also have a negative impression of "socialism." However, Democrats are evenly divided -- 44% have a positive reaction to "socialism" while 43% react negatively.
"Capitalism" elicits a less partisan reaction. About six-in-ten Republicans (62%) react positively to "capitalism," compared with 29% who have a negative reaction. About half of independents (52%) have a positive impression while 39% react negatively. Among Democrats, 47% react positively to "capitalism" while nearly as many (43%) react negatively.
There is a substantial partisan divide in views of the word "progressive." However, majorities of Democrats (81%), independents (64%) and Republicans (56%) have a positive reaction to "progressive."
More than four-in-ten independents (44%) react positively to the word "libertarian," while 32% have a negative reaction. Democrats are nearly evenly divided (39% positive, 37% negative). However, Republicans on balance have a negative impression of this term (44% negative, 31% positive).
Majorities of Democrats (70%), independents (66%) and Republicans (59%) react negatively to the word "militia." Nearly twice as many Republicans (27%) as Democrats (15%) have a positive view of this term.

Young People Lukewarm Toward "Capitalism"

Young people are more positive about "socialism" -- and more negative about "capitalism" -- than are older Americans. Among those younger than age 30, identical percentages react positively to "socialism" and "capitalism" (43% each), while about half react negatively to each. Among older age groups, majorities view "socialism" negatively and "capitalism" positively.

People ages 65 and older have a particularly negative reaction to "socialism" -- 73% have a negative impression of the term compared with just 14% who are positive. But those 65 and older are no more likely than those ages 30 to 64 to have a positive reaction to "capitalism" (56% vs. 55%).
More than twice as many blacks as whites react positively to "socialism" (53% vs. 24%). Yet there are no racial differences in views of "capitalism" -- 50% of African Americans and 53% of whites have a positive reaction.

Those with a high school education or less are evenly divided over "capitalism" (44% positive vs. 42% negative). Among those with some college experience, 49% react positively to "capitalism" as do 68% of college graduates. Those with a high school education or less are more likely to express a positive view of "socialism" than do those with more education.
People with family incomes of $75,000 or more are the only income group in which a clear majority (66%) reacts positively to the word "capitalism." Views of "socialism" also are much more negative among those in this income category (71% negative) and among those with incomes of $30,000 to $75,000 (64% negative) than among those with incomes of less than $30,000 (46% negative).
Conservative Republicans stand out for their overwhelmingly negative reactions to "socialism" (84% negative) and highly positive reactions to "capitalism" (67% positive). No more than about half in other political groups, including moderate and liberal Republicans (51%), have a positive impression of "capitalism."

Perhaps surprisingly, opinions about the terms "socialism" and "capitalism" are not correlated with each other. Most of those who have a positive reaction to "socialism" also have a positive reaction to "capitalism"; in fact, views of "capitalism" are about the same among those who react positively to "socialism" as they are among those who react negatively (52% and 56%, respectively, view "capitalism" positively). Conversely, views of "socialism" are just as negative among those who have a positive reaction to "capitalism" (64% negative) as those who react negatively (61% negative).

There are some differences in the relationship between these terms by demographic groups, although the association is not particularly strong among any group. For instance, among college graduates, 71% of those with a positive reaction to "capitalism" have a negative reaction to "socialism." By contrast, among college graduates who have a negative view of "capitalism" a smaller proportion have a negative view of "socialism" (51%).

Biased Predictions...

Prediction:

         Romney 52%                                             Obama 48%

I actually think NM, NV and MI are going to be close, but if I had to bet money (which I don't, I will only lose money if it goes the other way) I think this is good bet.

Right Wing Bias in the Media!

Ever wonder why, if FOX is number one in ratings, and talk radio is heavily conservative, how the MSM stays afloat?  All you would have to do, as an executive at one of those outlets, is balance - that is all.  None of them seem to get it.

But somebody didn't get the memo...

NOTE:  She did a piece a few days prior, slamming the Obama report THE DAY IT CAME OUT.  So, the Obama campaign called her!  And she slammed it again!  I tried to post to two videos, but CNN will only play the second one?...so go to her page  and watch it -its worth it.  Interesting to ponder why?  Is CNN finally getting it - don't hold your breath.  Is Burnett trying to make a name for herself as 'fair and balanced' - again, don't count on it.  Hedging their bet?  I think maybe...these are Hillary people...

*as I have said many, many, many times, why don't people get it, an increase in tax rates does not equal more revenue, but at least she is doing some of the math...

Less Than Two Weeks...

Which one of the following, is the President of the United States:

   a)  The guy making the Grade-School Debate Team counterpoint

   b)  The guy not lowering himself, or his position, to the insulting behavior of the other

...but then again, when has that guy ever respected his Office?

History's Justice...

"If something is true, you don't have to believe in it..." - Lily Tomlin

I watched a little of the debates...very little.  I just think that the good guys underperform so much, I can't handle it.  This is your job - practice it! Much is at stake. Take a lesson from Reagan - have a plan,  the "HOW," but more important, understand the basic principle behind what you want to do, the more important "WHY".

During the Democratic Party debates in 2008, Charles Gibson (a Democrat) asked candidate Obama, 'why, if you want to raise revenue for the government, would you increase the (capital gains) tax rate, when every time it has been decreased, revenues go up?' (paraphrased)  The would-be President said it was out of "fairness," that he just wanted a fair system.  Since Gibson is on the left, he really doesn't understand the WHY behind reducing tax rates, but at least he knew part of it.  The follow up question, in any REAL debate, would be - "So, Senator Obama, when those tax revenues go UP due to a decrease in the rate - who is paying that money that resulted in an increase in revenue - the poor?"  Its simple.  But not for the simple-minded.

During the Vice Presidential debate between Paul Ryan and Joe Biden, we heard this:

How can the RNC, and the SuperPAC's spend tens of millions of dollars on campaign ads...AND NOT RUN THIS ONE!

The Historical Lessons of Lower Tax Rates by Daniel Mitchell

Tax rates were slashed dramatically during the 1920s, dropping from over 70 percent to less than 25 percent. What happened? Personal income tax revenues increased substantially during the 1920s, despite the reduction in rates. Revenues rose from $719 million in 1921 to $1164 million in 1928, an increase of more than 61 percent.

Fair? President Obama?

The share of the tax burden paid by the rich rose dramatically as tax rates were reduced. The share of the tax burden borne by the rich (those making $50,000 and up in those days) climbed from 44.2 percent in 1921 to 78.4 percent in 1928.
___
President Kennedy proposed across-the-board tax rate reductions that reduced the top tax rate from more than 90 percent down to 70 percent. What happened? Tax revenues climbed from $94 billion in 1961 to $153 billion in 1968, an increase of 62 percent (33 percent after adjusting for inflation).

Fair? President Obama?

Just as happened in the 1920s, the share of the income tax burden borne by the rich increased following the tax cuts. Tax collections from those making over $50,000 per year climbed by 57 percent between 1963 and 1966, while tax collections from those earning below $50,000 rose 11 percent. As a result, the rich saw their portion of the income tax burden climb from 11.6 percent to 15.1 percent.

___
President Reagan proposed sweeping tax rate reductions during the 1980s. What happened? Total tax revenues climbed by 99.4 percent during the 1980s, and the results are even more impressive when looking at what happened to personal income tax revenues. Once the economy received an unambiguous tax cut in January 1983, income tax revenues climbed dramatically, increasing by more than 54 percent by 1989 (28 percent after adjusting for inflation).

Fair? President Obama?

The share of income taxes paid by the top 10 percent of earners jumped significantly, climbing from 48.0 percent in 1981 to 57.2 percent in 1988. The top 1 percent saw their share of the income tax bill climb even more dramatically, from 17.6 percent in 1981 to 27.5 percent in 1988.

Good TV...

Rated R....Rated X for some of you...

If you never saw it, HBO's The Wire was a great show.  As usual, I would have made some changes, but that's just me.  When I watched Season 1, I thought there was too much police brutality - but the longer I have been on the east coast, the more I see that it did, in fact, represent reality.  I actually worked with an old Baltimore cop, and he assured me, the heavy drinking, and drinking by the cops was true too.

Briefly, the show explains a little about life in the inner city.   The drug gangs, and the cops who try to contain them.  Again, if you are not living there, or working there, it seems like Hollywood - but its real.  And its real sad. Why would a kid got get a job, when he can stand on the corner, and make $5, $10, $20, $100 an hour selling something that makes people forget their problems.

It seems like entire generations, thousands of lives, have no hope of knowing how a life can be lived.  "Stay in school" means nothing, when you come home to...no home.  A building provided by the government to live in - is not a home.  You don't have to have a mother and father to make a family, but  , and I'm estimating here, 100% of the people in these neighborhoods and cities, do not know the comfort, security and safety that a family can bring.

Atlas is Shrugging...

...in my little world, and then, maybe the big one....

Sorry folks, but after two years if blood, sweat and tears, an opportunity has come up that will divert my attention away from the Internet, and this wonderfully delightful blog (...my sweat, somebody else's blood and tears) for 30 days, hopefully longer.  As things go, this will be a welcomed distraction from the sad state of our politics and the continued meandering of America's Team.

I no longer live and work under the Ninth Circuit (randomly chosen article, but it hit the nail on the head).  However, I managed to find another, smaller, and possibly more destructive criminal's utopia within our great country.  But, while I can't clean up my little corner of it, I'm going to try and save the world...or at least shoot some fish in a barrel.

[And a special thanks to the ATF - other than Immigration and Customs Enforcement not doing anything about immigration, ATF is the worst (IRS is bad, but for totally different reasons).  The ATF has managed to create a world in which lawyers in Washington D.C. now will STOP the good guys from investigating the bad guys - because the good guys may find out (in said investigation) the bad guys have guns - and that could make us look bad.  It is okay for the bad guys to have the guns, and to kill people, but if the good guys find out...I'm trying to spell it out, while being as cryptic as can be...but suffice to say that F&F will have HUGE repercussions for years to come, and none of those repercussions will address what the actual problem was.]

...Oh, and file this under the "I told you so" category, and later we will determine if I get to say it, or somebody can say it to me.  I pulled out of the market - 100%, everything.  I got out when the DJIA was just under 14,000.  I don't see it as overvalued, well maybe a little, but 'the market' is the future, and I see a gray one on the equity horizon.  Depending on what happens on November 6, it will go down a little and then recover nicely, or it will stay flat...and then sink.  There is nothing the Fed can do, because all the tools are out of the box.  In fact, I would short, if I was allowed to.  We all know what 'real' unemployment is, we all know that the dollar is so low on the teeter totter that it may fall off, we all know that GDP growth is BELOW population growth - technically, we are not in a recession, but that may change, and then we are in the proverbial snowball.  November 6th will just change the angle of the decline of the hill.

...that being said, every downturn, recession, and depression has its winners and losers.  Somebody(s) will do just fine.

...and another thing, if things get really bad, both sides have a plan for gold, the right wants to tie the dollar to it, and the left will TRY to follow FDR and Nixon's lead (since they didn't read their history books).

...okay, one more, what is at the bottom, and can only go up?  Mortgage rates - its FREE money for 30 years.  There is still a glut of bank owned and foreclosed properties, so the housing market will take a while to grow back, and the growth will NO DOUBT be slowed by increased mortgage rates, so its a long term investment...but shouldn't they all be?

I'm just saying'...

I Couldn't Have Said it Better...

...well maybe, but I couldn't have made a better video:

E M E R G E N C Y . . .

So much is at steak stake this election, and now, its getting SERIOUS:

baconwhitebackground.jpg

Industry group: bacon, pork shortage ‘unavoidable’

"Maybe the Mayans saw this coming in their end of the world prophesies. Those who pray at the temple of bacon could see their world crumbling to bacon bits this winter..."  Hey, freedom of religion...and it is an altar, not a temple.

"The trade group urged supermarkets to pay pig farmers a fair price for the meat to help cover the drought-related losses..."  This is not a 'fair price' matter, it is an access matter.  Access to bacon, we need to keep the flow of bacon...flowing. Comprehensive bacon reform!

"The surge came as farmers scaled down their herds as feeding the animals became increasingly expensive..." Was Obama for the surge, or against it?  What if we feed the pigs more bacon...whoa, I think I may have something there.

Will this be covered in the debates?  Is there polling on this?  I don't even know where the candidates stand on this - I seriously doubt Obama eats bacon.  Romney, probably has it sprinkled on things, but I don't see him picking it up with his hands.  Either way, I think it was William Howard Taft who said it best, "I like a little bacon, okay?"

Never Before...

George Washington did not have to 'run' or 'campaign' for President.  As we are a Republic, he was elected by the elected representatives of the states.  However, in the subsequent elections - he was slammed in the press (by a surrogate of Washington's Secretary of State, Thomas Jefferson) in an attempt to sway votes against him.  It didn't help, he won re-election with a unanimous vote.

However, the 'parties' that had formed, managed to fight over Vice President, and John Adams lost votes to George Clinton, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr.

And things will never be the same...

Two years later, United States Congressman Matthew Lyon was beaten on the floor of the Senate by Congressman Roger Griswold, with a wooden cane.  This, was after Lyon spat in Griswold's face.

In 1798, things had gotten so cantankerous, the 5th Congress of the United States passed the Alien and Sedition Acts, making it a federal crime to publish "false, scandalous, and malicious writing" against government officials.  However, FBI agents of the day, could not find a United States Attorney to prosecute it (...okay, that part I made up, but some things NEVER CHANGE!).

One of the first to be imprisoned under the new law was James Callender, who published pamphlets, the Richmond Examiner, and a book titled, The Prospect Before Us (available on eBay for $39K...in 2012 dollars), in which he railed against John Adams and his party of Federalists.

Later that year, Congressman Lyon was arrested, tried, convicted, and spent time in jail, for criticizing our second President, John Adams.  (Lyon was essentially wrong, he published criticism of Adam's policy towards France, but either way - apparently our Founding Fathers had not heard of the 1st Amendment).  Lyon also published a newspaper, The Scourge of Aristocracy and Repository of Important Political Truth (a lot of the good names of newspapers were already taken).

Yadda, yadda, yadda...and we find ourselves in the election of 1800.  Adams vs Jefferson.

You think things today are bad?

Jefferson won, John Adams never again participated in national politics (somebody please send this link to Carter and Clinton), Alexander Hamilton was shot, and his murderer, Vice President Aaron Burr, was later tried for Treason, but charges were dropped by a meddling Supreme Court.

The Left does seem to be taking us in the wrong direction...but not exactly uncharted waters.

It Doesn't Matter...

As Kirsten Powers (Democrat) pointed out on Fox News, if the Main Stream Media doesn't put it out, and then it doesn't get picked up by the local news stations...it will have NO EFFECT on November 6, 2012.

But...

We on the Right, know the entire Obama story is a facade, as are his slogans (Change?), and his promises (to reduce the national debt), etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

But what about the people in the COMMUNITIES that Obama ORGANIZED?  At the risk of sounding harsh, I believe that Barack, Valerie Jarrett...Sharpton...Jackson...et al, get rich by keeping the rats in the trap.  How can the old ladies, who still live and work in the projects, think that he helped anybody but himself?

They are STILL THERE, in the projects.  How many who lived there, in public housing, made it out? How many of their children made it out?

Is it a great moment for them, for Obama to become President, and get them more food stamps, more job training, easier welfare checks?  Isn't the goal, to get actual jobs, and move out? To improve their lives? The unemployment rate for blacks in Chicago in the 90's was estimated at a median of 18.2%, in 2011 it was reported to be 21.4%...with people 16 to 30 years old, its over 50%.

With a track record like that, who wouldn't want Obama elected President?  Except blacks living in Chicago!

But give the guy a chance, see how he helps.

...and here we are, four years later.  How's it working for them?

In 2011, they got Obama's man, Rahm Emanuel, as their mayor - how's it working for them?

The Poor People Obama Left Behind

I've worked to put "offenders" in prison.  They earn it, and they are a scourge to their own society.  But, listen to the men in the video - GIVE THEM A CHANCE to earn something different!

They don't want a handout, they don't want fake job training. They know, it is only because of their FAMILY that they aren't on the street now.

And the people who claim to be helping them, are actually keeping them from succeeding.

Some, have known it all along...

Obama's Toughest Critics on the Left

But those are the ones that weren't invited to the party in D.C.  Those are the ones still stuck in inner city Chicago.

These are the ones that were invited to the party.

New Poll on Bullying...

Department of Justice Sues Gallup Polling Regarding Over Billing

NBC was sure to print that story...but they forgot to print this one:

"Internal emails between senior officials at The Gallup Organization, obtained by The Daily Caller, show senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod attempting to subtly intimidate the respected polling firm when its numbers were unfavorable to the president."

But that isn't all...this DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE claim may be Furious, just not Fast:

"The publicly available complaint shows the DOJ is relying solely on the allegations Lindley (former Gallup employee) is making to back its claims...."

"...They have 120 days to serve a complaint on us — so they might just hold off on service until the election passes,” the senior Gallup official said. “That way they prevent us from officially responding to their allegations, which might be damaging to the campaign.”

Holder spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler did not respond when asked by TheDC why the Justice Department has not yet served the complaint to Gallup."

Holder spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler - you mean the one who has been working with Media Matters to make sure the TAX EXEMPT outfit gets 'facts'? Wonder why she hasn't responded?

Hugging Trees...

Just as the political world approaches its peak, and my head is about to explode...my work life is about to get crazy busy (hopefully...if not, I may give up on trying to clean up the world), and so I took a little time to get away...

...I took Jonny Q with me.  The picture doesn't do the terrain justice, this was some serious decline...especially after 12 miles under our boots...I had to block out the face, the sheer terror would have scared you away!

A True Remembrance...

Who would have thought, that on the anniversary of 9/11, attacks on U.S. Embassy's in several Muslim countries...would be met first with an apology from the U.S., and then more soft talk from the President of the United States.  We are living in interesting times.

Our Ambassador is dead, our Embassy in Libya is destroyed (did they have time to secure things that needed to be secured, or does the Muslim now Brotherhood have our computers, our plans, etc?), and the Main Stream Media is most concerned that the man trying to be President, spoke before the President.

On 60 minutes on Sunday, President Obama will say that Mr. Romney has a problem speaking before he has all the facts (see "Beer Summit").  When in fact, Mr. Romney was correct in his words, and correct to say "its never to early" to condemn attacks on Americans.

Mr. President, they would not have dared to do this (or what comes next...) if they knew it was dangerous to do so.  Mr. President, didn't you see all that Bin Laden did in the 90's?  Don't you see that the governments of Libya, Egypt and the rest of the Middle East will see how you want them to treat our Embassies?

Years from now, will the books (eBooks?) tell about President Apology and how his ethnocentric view of the world cost the lives of Americans?  Worse yet, the story is not completely written.  When the Marines arrive, will they have food and money for Brotherhood, or will they have the dangerous end of an M16?

...it is slowly becoming clear (where is the MSM on this?).  The Internet movie that nobody heard about, was a hoax, and a ruse.  The citizens of Libya, Yemen and Egypt did not, on 9/11, all of a sudden get upset over a movie no American ever heard of, and decide to protest the American Embassies.  The Islamists coordinated this, just like they did on THE 9/11.  There is even conspiracy talk that the Coptic Christians of Egypt funded this to get America involved in their war, since it is the SAME enemy.  Either way, it boils down to the simple fact that we were attacked again, and again the wrong man is at the helm of our Ship of State. The only reason their attack is so small, is because we beat the hell out of them around the globe the last time...

Lies, Damn Lies, and Democrats...

A Failed Governor Talks Up a Failed President

"...But even more bizarre than Granholm’s convention appearance was that she was invited to make one in the first place. She was arguably the worst governor of her time who, during her eight-year term, took Michigan’s teetering economy into her firm hands and gave it a good, hard push off the cliff...

...And the loss of dignity is just a small price to pay for a future Cabinet position."

The Democrats Try to Hide the Left...

Oops.  Villaraigosa is an idiot, he is trying to become the next Wasserman-Schultz...by not answering any question directly, and just spouting odd talking points.  He was clearly caught off guard:

Who is in the building at this time?  The base.  Who else would be in the convention hall, wearing their t-shirts at this time?  Hopefully enough "Democrats" see what has happened to their party.

They won't.

I'd Like To See That....

I would like to see this President, and his Attorney General, try to prosecute the former Navy SEAL, for revealing classified information.

I have seen first hand, what revealing SECRETS can do.  I have seen it dismantle individual investigations, and I have seen it change the way US law enforcement works.  Sometimes it is done inadvertently, sometimes its done on purpose - and sometimes its hard to tell which is worse...

I don't know what is in the book, only what I have heard.  The timing of the book is huge.  Some think it hurts the President (his account isn't exactly accurate, the troops don't like him, etc.), some think it will help (he was President when we got him, and people are talking about that). Can't say I'm happy about the book coming out.  I definitely will read it, maybe even pay for it.  I have read so many SEAL books, I feel like I went through BUD/S twice...without all the running, and sand and stuff.  Have nothing but good wishes for the author, hope he cashed in, and hope he spreads the wealth.

But facts are stubborn things:

This ain't the first SEAL to write a book recently, so he's probably not revealing anything there.

Oh, and THE ADMINISTRATION ALREADY LEAKED this and so much more, they have already provided the defense for Mr. Bissonnette, er, Mr. Owen.

So good luck with that...
