Not So Super Sunday...

FBI ramps up security efforts to keep the big game super safe

Is it the job of the FBI to do security at the Super Bowl?  It is one thing for them to be prepared for the state and local authorities to call.  We have all feared a terrorist attack at a mall, or sporting event, but has one happened yet?  There are approximately 2,400 state police in NJ, and slightly less than 1/3 of them will be working to provide security.

Who will be paying for the FBI to work on Sunday?  That's a trick question.  They do not get paid to work Sundays.

Does this look like a fun way to spend a Super Bowl? Do you see a TV?

I say, LET THEM WATCH THE GAME!

I mean…we don't need the Federal Government to do everything!

Give A Man A Fish...

If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day

Government Fat...

Chris Christie touts new after school free dinner program in Camden

"Republican" Chris Christie wants to force kids to stay longer in school every day, and to eliminate summer break.  Now, he wants FREE DINNER to be added to the menu of FREE LUNCH and FREE BREAKFAST.

Christie is showing that he can play populist just like other big-government Leftists.  How can anybody be against feeding poor children?

This is the same Camden, New Jersey where a corner store was found to have taken in MILLIONS in food stamps (via EBT cards).  It was well known that you could convert your food stamps to cash at 50 cents on the dollar.  That is no longer working, so lets offer free meals, ALL THREE - breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Christie thinks this will help parents see their children succeed -  what it will really do is help parents at not being parents.  Thanks Big Brother!

In 2011, the City of Camden collected $23 million in tax revenue.  Since Camden is shrinking, and not growing, in 2014 they expect to collect $24 million.  The proposed budget for 2014 is $172 million.  The mayor said that will include a request of $112.5 million in aid from the State of New Jersey, with the rest made up in aid from the Federal Government.

First things first, said Christie - Lets focus on eating!

Why...

Why are we still in Afghanistan?  The same reason we are still in Germany, South Korea, etc.  Would the Cold War have gone the same if we did not stay in Europe?  Would Asia look the same if we were not in Japan and South Korea?

I do not think so.

It is difficult to say that we should still be in Afghanistan.  But remember, as we are leaving, the Taliban (the ones we fought there) are ready to fill that void when we leave.

Just do not forget that we are still there.  And our soldiers are still putting their lives on the line...

Finally...

At long last, Attorney General Eric Holder has announced that the Department of Justice will Expand Rules Limiting Use of Profiling by Federal Agents.  The new rules will include that federal agents will not be allowed to open investigations based on an individual's religion, national origin, gender or sexual orientation.

Thank you Mr. Holder.  No longer will we see:

Operation Bob is Gay

The Case Against Catholics

The Investigation into People from Yemen for being from Yemen

This will cut down on all the wasted time agents have spent going after "Latinos" for being from Latin. Also, nobody will ever be dragged into federal court again for being a woman (since gender was included).

While I agree in theory with this very important, landmark change, lets be clear about one thing…they can still be investigated for plotting against Conservatives right?  We can still kill unborn babies right?

Just checking…

Government to the Rescue….

Atlantic City Casino Closes, Union Helps Members Fill Out Unemployment Papers

"…Just hours after Atlantic Club Casino Hotel shut its doors for the final time, hundreds of former casino employees filled the union's headquarters on Atlantic Avenue.  The local brought together several [government] agencies helping to coordinate unemployment sign-ups and help from the local food bank, among other aid."

"…Atlantic City Electric also was available to talk to employees about assistance programs available to help [others] pay for utilities through the winter.  The union also was prepared to help with language barriers [so they could take the money from non-English speaking dupes]."

Don't get me wrong, I feel for these people who lost their jobs.  Atlantic City has no vision - its not family friendly, and now people can gamble anywhere.  Luckily, their are unions that will make sure you can't get a raise when you deserve one, and you don't have to collect all your paycheck, they will collect some of it for you.  Now that the private sector failed, the union will help the government come in and pay for it.

What's my solution?  Its no picnic.  When Hurricane Sandy (I didn't think it was that super) hit, the casinos in Atlantic City closed for three days.  The press reports were that it was a loss of over $30 million.  Atlantic City is still building and proposing new casinos.  Sure, "management" of this casino did a poor job, they failed, an now the employees pay the price too.  But what has the union brought them? Government assistance in a matter of hours.  How about a job?  I just don't see the benefit of the union.  My solution - give the union dues back to the employees.

And how about the translators.  How successful are these people going to be if they can't speak English?  How about union language classes instead of translators.

Women Can't Do Pull-Ups...

Marines Delay Female Fitness Plan AFter Half Fail Pull-Up Test

"More than half of female Marines in boot camp can't do three pull-ups, the minimum standard that was supposed to take effect…part of the process of equalizing physical standards to integrate women into combat jobs."

"…The Marines had hoped to institute the pull-ups on the belief that pull-ups require the muscular strength necessary to perform common military tasks such as scaling a wall, climbing up a rope or lifting and carrying heavy munitions."
________________________________________________________

If I were in-charge, after they did their pull-ups, they would have to….scale a wall, climb a rope, and carry heavy munitions.  I am against women in combat, but that is what our "leaders" have chosen.  Okay then, they have to pass the same test, which is what the Marines are trying to do.

I once took a physical fitness test for a large police department with over 1,000 others.  Numerous female applicants could not drag a body 10 yards, or scale a 6" wall.  I remember clearly that they got a PASS and were told, "we can teach you how to do that."

Yeah right, I thought...

[Warning: Female Anatomy Discussed]

Well, we all know that woman can't shoot…

Okay, whatever...

No Time...

I have not had time to blog, too much work, Holidays, and now, the worst storm the North Eastern United States has seen since...the last storm the North Eastern United States has seen…

Isn't it funny, that after enacting small twists to old laws, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker faced a recall.  Huge money was brought in from outside the state, a special election was held…and he won
Look, no sweat…confidence.
again (interesting, Walker support flowed in…and the Left complained about outside money!  While they shipped paid union picketers in to Madison).

Why do I say small twists?  The government telling government employees what they are allowed to collectively bargain for is not a big deal.  NJ RINO Chris Christie has said that it is not important enough for him to try and change that in NJ.  Rather, he says the government simply can't cave during the "bargaining" process.  Walker's plan is much more sound - and will last until the Left has control of the Governor and Wisconsin congress again.

[ Being from the West, deep in the heart of the Right-to-Work, and a "union" member myself, it still blows me away that people would want to be paid the same as everybody else, no matter the quality of their work?  I have NEVER had a job where I wanted to be paid what OTHER people made…]

…walking in circles
But, the Left is not done. They are again, going to spend tens of millions of dollars to try and unseat Walker.
