Not So Super Sunday...

FBI ramps up security efforts to keep the big game super safe

Is it the job of the FBI to do security at the Super Bowl?  It is one thing for them to be prepared for the state and local authorities to call.  We have all feared a terrorist attack at a mall, or sporting event, but has one happened yet?  There are approximately 2,400 state police in NJ, and slightly less than 1/3 of them will be working to provide security.

Who will be paying for the FBI to work on Sunday?  That's a trick question.  They do not get paid to work Sundays.

Does this look like a fun way to spend a Super Bowl? Do you see a TV?

I say, LET THEM WATCH THE GAME!

I mean…we don't need the Federal Government to do everything!

I see absolutely NO role for the FBI in providing physical security for the Super Bowl unless the State of New Jersey is so absolutely incompetent that they can't handle the problem.

Providing information on threats or having a liaison officer (who can watch the game) at the command post is a different thing.

So maybe one person in the CP.

That's BS. The Feds have once again over stepped their bounds.

The US was basically screwed when Congress passed the Patriot Act which removed the protections of the 4th Amendment as long as all was done in the name of fighting "terrorism." Scary stuff.

While I'm BBQing steaks for the sandwiches in the temperate Southwest, I'll think of you, standing your lonely vigil in the cold, earning your princely premium pay...
