"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficial. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greater dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding." - Louis Brandeis

I Don't Remember...
...hearing this in the main stream media. I do remember media claims of possible racism at every mention of a tea party event...
Facists (such as the German National SOCIALIST Worker's Party - NAZI) are in some strange way lumped in with people who support limited government. I have no idea how this came to be because it makes absolutely no sense.
Any scale that puts Facists on one end of a political spectrum and Communism on the other is to entertain the notion that the only option is totalitarian government.
Whether the 'ideal' government (to the Left) is a totalitarian religious state such as Israel, a totalitarian police state such as the old Soviet Union or 'Old China' or some sort of forced Socialist Utopian wet dream that President Obama favors, they all deny freedom of action and rely on wiping out all notions of limited government.
It is so easily swallowed by the youth, in schools funded by our tax dollars, that it is a simple spectrum, with "radicals" for change on the far left, and "Nazis" on the far right. I remember hearing it in school, and from Al Gore during the lead up to 2000.

Good one, but I didn't know Bill Whittle could draw like that.
