Clear as Mud...

Every time I hear about budget cuts....like:

"We want to go back to 2008 spending levels..."

"We want to freeze raises for Federal Employees for two years..."

I think, okay - that's a start.  Where's the beef?  The big mention lately has been the $100 billion:

House GOP Proposes Deep Budget Cuts
"According to Democratic estimates, cuts of that magnitude - if applied across the board - would require the Justice Department to fire 4,000 FBI agents and 1,500 agents at the Drug Enforcement Administration. The federal prison system would have to fire 5,700 correctional officers..."

Really? Cutting that much of the budget would force America to cut the number of FBI Agents by 1/3? Those cuts sound serious!

Or are they...

When are they going to get serious?  When are they going to cut failed efforts like federal spending on education, agriculture subsidies, etc., etc., etc, that have billion dollar budgets...and don't provide the benefits they were intended for?

Hopefully, 2010 was a wakeup call.  If they hit the snooze, we have to do it again in 2012 - and I'm not just talking about Obama and the Dems...

and yes...the Obamba administration will order the investigation into the destruction of US Currency as witnessed in the video (Title 18, USC, Section 331)

Maybe the FBI will stop devoting resources to investigating the pirated DVD's -- I see the warning every time I toss in a movie, saying that they WILL investigate... ;^)

The entitlements, welfare, waste in education and agriculture, bail-outs and subsidies that are pure pork are the grist of the Democratic Party. If they couldn't buy votes that way, the party would go under...

I read the DOJ memo that went out to DEA. The government doesn't have the sense to get out of the rain. Rather than examine programs by validity based on outcome, it's much easier to put an across the board freeze.

EXACTLY...the DOJ in DC is full of BS (see, a true bureaucrat knows his acronyms). Hundreds of millions for programs that fail to accomplish, fail to move something forward. But no money to put gas in cars, no money to pay employees overtime.

I'll bet the average desk of a government employee has approximately 20 pens. Why - they are free. Its small, its stupid, but with tens of thousands of desks, everything adds up...

...wait that gives me an idea for a post...

They act without conscience and without the interests of the nation in mind. DOJ and other entities have been offered up on the altar of insensible cuts because they can point to the bleeding sacrifice as an example of their acumen.

The necessary cuts are not politically popular and our incompetent commander-in-chief wants to get elected again (please let it not be so). As a result, the country sinks deeper into the pit.
